IN GOOD HANDS
Bustling During the Holidays
But still want to help out? We all would like to help feed the 23 million Americans who rely on food charities. Give to a food bank. Many food banks receive too many snacks and not enough really healthy food. Try this:
Give filling food: Food banks are perpetually low on protein. Some good ideas for this are peanut butter, canned tuna, and other meats and soups.
Kid friendly food: Many of the people who rely on food bank food are children. Give 100% fruit juice, powdered milk, cereal, canned veggies and mac and cheese.
And worse come to worse, you an always give cash (the perfect gift)

Save Money while Shopping
Professional shoppers are hired to shop undercover and identify customer service problems. These people spend hours in stores and know how the system works. They recommend this:
Ask and receive: Many department stores can cut the price of goods you want especially if there is a defect or a price higher than you planned to spend. Tell them your budget and see if they can lower the price for you.
Solicit and Save: Always ask the cashier if there are any current coupons that are available and can you have the same discount.
Nail the sale: Most stores hold sales on the same dates each year. Mark your calendar in advance when they are held. Also if you buy too early at full price you may be able bring back merchandise and get the discount.
Keep it real: Make friends with helpful sales people by taking their business cards and stop by to say hello when you are shopping. They will keep you abreast of all the coming deals.
When Should I Take My Vitamins?
Actually the time of day makes little difference, but taking supplements with food is important because a little fat in food can facilitate absorption. If you can't take your supplements at mealtimes try adding a little food when you do take them.

Chiropractic A Miracle Cure?
Most of us have seen in recent media coverage that chiropractic is finally coming to its own. Scientific studies have documented that with adjustments of the neck we are seeing a more effective treatment for ear infections in children than with the use of antibiotics and tubes. Childhood asthma has shown significant decreases with chiropractic adjustments. Many of these children were drug dependent and after proper chiropractic care they were drug free. We have to remember that we are constantly bombarded by drug ads that are trying to scare us into using drugs to help our children.

Other studies have shown significant positive changes in children diagnosed with ADHD and hyperactivity who receive chiropractic care. Wouldn't you rather see your child have adjustments as opposed to taking powerful drugs like Ritalin? Now they are finding that "depressed" children are receiving Prozac-like drugs and the suicide rate for children on these drugs has skyrocketed. A recent study in treatment of depression has found that light exercise coupled with chiropractic care is that no more effective in treating depression in children as well as adults. We need to be extremely careful when putting these powerful drugs into our bodies, especially our children as they are still growing. The beauty of chiropractic care is that no one is ever harmed and everyone can benefit. Please before you allow your children to be put on dangerous drugs, try chiropractic.

The holidays are upon us
and for the next two months it's going to be lots of places to go and lots of people to see. Some of us are staying here while others are traveling. It will be crazy as usual. Overall, what do we need to do these next two months? Do not stop your exercise program, no matter what. You can decrease the time spent but make time every day. Keep the habit. Many of you have started programs this year and I am very proud of you all -- please keep it up. Take your vitamins. This is a stressful time of year and you need to make sure that you are tin tiptop shape, Make sure you get regular chiropractic adjustments. This will stimulate your immune system and make you more resistant to any bugs going around and give you more energy to withstand the onslaught of the holidays. Watch your diet, sure you can splurge a little, many of you have discussed diet plans with me and have made quite a bit of progress. When you have less weight on your body you are less likely to have as many aches and pains. It's that simple, the more you weigh the more strain you put on your knees, back, shoulders and head. So have fun but keep up what you have been doing all year long. Don't backslide

Going to a party, What can I bring?
If the party is small and personal give the host or hostess a small gift. Just make sure it's unique. Don't bring wine to a formal dinner or the host may feel obligated to serve it. Better to send flowers and a thank you note afterward. If you must take something bring a cookbook or a fun novel. Food is also a good choice particularly something for after the party, like a gourmet treat. These gifts do not have to break the bank they are a way of saying thank you.
You could also give mugs, gourmet hot chocolate or gift certificate for a video rental, perfect for a winter night.(even in Arizona ).

Have a great
Holiday . Sincerely, Dr. Dennis and Stella.
